Winfrey’s biological father who was usually noted as Vernon Winfrey (born 1933) had made his own path during the divorce with Vernita Lee during the hard times.
After Winfrey’s birth, her mother traveled north and Winfrey spent her first six years living in rural poverty with her grandmother, Hattie Mae Lee from April 15th, 1900 to February 27th, 1963, where they had no sources of living a good life. At age six, Winfrey moved to an inner-city neighborhood in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with her mother whom was less supportive and discouraging than her grandmother had ever been, largely as a result of the long hours she worked as a housemaid. Moreover, Winfrey made a statement that she was molested by her cousin, uncle, and a family friend, at age nine years old, something she first announced to her viewers on a 1986 episode of her TV show regarding ‘sexual abuse’. When Winfrey discussed the abuse with her family members at age 24, they refused to accept the fact that she was sexually abused.
At age 13, after years of suffering, physically and mentally abused, Winfrey ran away from home. When she was 14, she was pregnant but her son was born prematurely and he died shortly after birth. Winfrey was betrayed by her family member who had sold the story of her son to the National Enquirer in 1990. In the aftermath, Winfrey made her way up and went to three different high schools when was living with her grandmother Hattie Mae, in Nashville, Tennessee. She was also a Host for WLS-TV’s low-rated half-hour morning talk show, AM Chicago for Donahue’s broadcasting station. Winfrey got herself a syndicated show by Donahue on starting her own reality TV show on the September 8th, 1986. At the time, Winfrey became a Hollywood celebrity not long after running her own reality TV show until 2009 where she decided to shut the her reality TV show down and donated 400 $USD million to the charity welfare, for she had been doing a great showbiz for as long as 23 years of operation. Nevertheless, Winfrey had operated her own “Oprah’s Book Club,” O, The Oprah Magazine, 2004 to 2008 and Oprah Radio since February 9th, 2006 in the running production of Oprah Winfrey Network and Co.
